Speedmaster
Transitional - "Box & Papers"
It's well documented the rare transitional Speedmaster ref. 105.002-62 was only in production for around 6 months, before reaching Omega's authorised dealers.
This superb example was retailed at Harrods in May 1964 and is accompanied by its Omega warranty booklet and vintage red Omega box. It bridges the gap between the 1962 ref. CK2998-62 and the the pre-moon landing Speedmasters that followed. With just a few for sale worldwide, Speedmasters like this are usually hidden away in private collections for generations.
The charcoal-grey stepped dial has developed a lovely rich texture through natural aging. It enhances the appeal of the radium hour markers (which drape over the step as they should) and the Alpha hands, both having developed deep caramel tones. Applied metal Ω logo at 12, "swiss made" designation at 6, and the final series to feature the silver rehaut between the etched Hesalite crystal and dial. Fitted to its correct 7912 flat link bracelet (also in great condition), fitted with a slightly later dot next to 90 bezel insert, and powered by Omega's archetypal hand-wound calibre 321. Guaranteed for two years.
