Boucheron
Boucheron
With watch houses like Cartier, Van Cleef and Piaget looking back at their history for inspiration; early 20th century watches like this yellow gold Boucheron Reflet ref. 8308 are being sought-after by collectors more than ever.
Boucheron, the respected french jewellery maison, introduced the 18ct gold Reflet in 1947. The task then was to create a beautifully constructed piece of jewellery that also tells the time. Its chunky rectangular shape with singular ruler sharp case lines and invisible clasp, was the cutting edge of technical ability, and although significantly more difficult to do, it invited a seamless unique design. Typical of Boucheron, the dials were left unsigned until the 70s, and the winding crown was topped with a blue cabochon sapphire.
Engraved on the caseback beneath Boucheron is "BT 908247". Often mistaken for the serial number, this is actually the French patent number for the bracelet. It is documented, this patent no. was applied from 1944 (patent secured), for the single release bracelet feature.
Measuring a discreet 21.5 x 36mm, suitable for a wrist size up to 17cm in circumference, it retains matching case number engravings, and Parisian Eagle & UK assay marks dating to 1972. Powered by the hand-wound Boucheron calibre 2512, and presented with our two-year comprehensive warranty.
