GMT Concord
1675 - “Dash dial”
The extremely rare Concord GMT that had eluded me for most of my 35-year watch career, until now...
Immortalised by the iconic 1968 Rolex advert "If you were flying the Concord tomorrow..." this 18ct yellow gold GMT-Master ref. 1675/8 (crown guard model), features the glossy lacquered brown tritium dial, distinguished as a rare Mark 1 by the hyphen between “OYSTER–PERPETUAL”. Identical to the model pictured in the Supersonic Jet poster that coined its name, our outstanding original example, features straight baton hands (not mercedes) with a distinctive thin tapering minute hand, unique to the Concorde GMT.
We've searched the net for other Concorde GMT, but have not found any with such a vibrant unblemished dial, perfectly faded brown beel insert and unpolished case. A truly honest watch that has been beautifully looked after and cherished by its original owner, presented with its original box.
