The glossy black (beautifully serifed) gilt dial of this 1964 Rolex Explorer 5500 is one of the best we've seen. In mirror-like condition, with correct "Swiss T<25" designation it is exactly what an original/unrestored gilt dial should look like. The rare mercedes hands are correct and of original 1964 manufacture, and the warm creamy coloured tritium luminous in the hands & baton markers is totally untouched, and glows under UV with the same intensity. The 34mm stainless steel case is in excellent condition, and this superb vintage sports watch is fitted to the rare 'USA' riveted vintage Oyster bracelet. Waterproof to 60m, and guaranteed for 2 years.
