Explorer II "Full Set"
1655 - Orange Hand
If you are in the market for a truly outstanding 'Orange hand' Explorer II, then I suggest you come take a look at our remarkable example.
Retailed in August 1981, this Steve McQueen ref. 1655 with Plexiglas has been meticulously looked after. The steel 40mm case & lugs are factory thick and retain crisp bevelled edges, in fact such is the quality, Rolex could use it as the 'poster boy' Orange hand!
The 6,3m serial number identifies it as a Mk IV tritium dial, with gorgeous warm patina to all original hands and lume markers. The fixed steel 24hr bezel retains strong black enamel painted numerals and is an untouched factory correct MK III. The iconic 24hr orange hand is nice and vibrant set against the charcoal grey matt dial. As you can see from our images, the cal. 1570 automatic movement is in exemplary condition, and the watch keeps excellent time.
Further presented with its original box, Rolex punched certificate, 81/82 calendar card, booklet, chronometer tag and official Rolex service history from 2008. Waterproof to 60m, and guaranteed by WatchClub for two years.
