Day-Date Vignette
18238 - Amber Red
Just serviced by Rolex, this 18ct yellow gold Day-Date ref. 18238 is covered by Rolex's two-year service international warranty.
The Amber red dégradé dial with diamond & baguette hour marker distinguishes this Day-Date as one of the most beautiful and rare examples we've had in quite some time.
Featuring the sapphire crystal glass and "double quick-set" Day & Date change, with only a handful of examples currently available worldwide, it represents one of the more elusive neo-vintage Day-Date variants.
As the demand continues to reward rare factory dial combinations, these early dégradé dials have become increasingly appreciated by collectors. Produced using the same traditional lacquering techniques as Rolex's celebrated Stella dials, each dial was rotated during the application of lacquer before a darker varnish was applied around the border, creating the distinctive fade from a warm centre to a rich, darker outer track. The result is a dial that shifts beautifully with the light, its warm amber tones complemented perfectly by the diamond hour markers and yellow gold case.
Powered by Rolex's self-winding calibre 3155, featuring the desirable double quick-set function for both the day and date. Protected by a sapphire crystal with the signature Cyclops lens, water resistant to 100 metres and paired with the iconic solid gold President concealed bracelet, this is a particularly compelling example of one of Rolex's most iconic models.
