Patek Philippe
Top Hat
About this watch
Manufactured in 1949 this vintage ref. 1450 is a rare example of one of Patek Philippe's most distinctive Art Deco designs. Crafted in 18k yellow gold, the rectangular case measures 21 by 37mm and features two horizontal bands that give the model its signature “Top Hat” silhouette.
First debuted in 1940 when rectangular watches were at the height of Art Deco influence, it features a champagne dial, with raised applied hour markers and running seconds at six.
A rare and highly sought-after Patek, remarkably, this exceptional example retains its original Patek Philippe yellow gold pin buckle. Accompanied by its extract from the Patek archives, confirming its sale on March 3rd 1950. Guaranteed for two years.
