A truly outstanding (box & papers) vintage Submariner Date, one of the last 'red writing' 1680's.

Final Mk VI tritium dial with closed 6's and long 'Ft', however it is the outstanding quality of the dial with gorgeous buttery tritium (waffle) lume, matched perfectly by all three hands, red over white print 'Submariner' standing out against the super clean matte charcoal dial, and a nice thick unrestored case. The serifed bezel has never been replaced, and retains its original lume pearl at 12 which is a real rarity these days.

This has everything, collectors love to see in a 'red writing Sub', and furthermore is offered with its original box, Submariner wave instruction booklet, green tag and perforated Rolex Certificate. 

The 3,7m serial number dates production of this remarkable example to 1974.
