Thanks to its formidable construction and incredible depth rating of 12,800ft, this first-generation 44mm Deepsea ref. 116660 can withstand a little over 2.5 tonnes of atmospheric pressure. Rolex have cleverley lightened the hefty case, making the screwdown caseback from titanium without compromising on strength.  

It comes with a black unidirectional ceramic bezel with 10-minute graduations, used by divers to monitor submersion & decompression safely. The Deepsea is also equipped with Rolex's patented helium escape valve with ring lock system, allowing the watch to withstand the most extreme ocean pressure. Its glossy black dial provides strong legibility in low-light conditions, and it was Rolex's first watch to feature the blue Chromalight hands and hour markers.
