Manufactured in 1960, this 34mm 18ct yellow gold Oyster Precision (ref. 1005) is a rare find with plenty of vintage charm. It features the early millerighe fluted bezel, dappled champagne dial, punctuated by elongated angular hour markers, dauphine hands and that synonymous Superlative Chronometer text.

Perfectly defined on the inside of the solid gold case back are all the Rolex hallmarks & engravings, indicating thorough Rolex service history. Interestingly, this contains its model reference and full serial number '487xxx' engraved inside too. This practice was seldom seen from Rolex, and was used to ensure the gold caseback was kept with the watch during servicing.

Powered by Rolex's calibre 1560 movement, automatically wound-when-worn, by the large butterfly oscillating weight, found on these vintage Oyster Perpetuals. Waterproof to 25m. Fitted to a soft tan calf leather strap, with gold plaque pin buckle, and guaranteed for two-years.
