It combines a high-frequency 60-second Tourbillon, additional hour subsidiary, used to mark your local or home-time independently, and a date ring surrounding the brushed silver dial. Interestingly, the engineers at JLC invented a unique way of linking the date display directly to the hour and minute hands. Thus, when the additional crescent tipped "date hand" reaches the bottom of the dial; rather than obscuring the Tourbillon, it "jumps' forward between 15 & 16, that borders the carriage.

The sapphire exhibition caseback offers a detailed view of JLC's self-winding calibre 978, with patented dated indication and large 22ct gold oscillating weight. Fitted to a brand new brown alligator JLC strap, secured by its solid rose gold deployant, and presented with its special JLC presentation box, loupe, swing tag, booklets, and Jaeger LeCoultre warranty booklet dated August 2009.
