7650 - Vintage Chronograph
This Breitling Co-Pilot "Yachting", from 1969, is the elusive beefier brother of the classic Navitimer. With screw-down back and a solid knurled bezel. Its anodised insert is calibrated as a countdown timer, matching the coloured 5-minute markings on the chronograph minute recorder.
Within there is the venerable Venus 178 manual-wind calibre. The vivid legibility of the dial is balanced by the discreet early "Cursive B" Breitling logo. The serial numbers place the watch squarely in 1969, exactly according to Breitling's publication of its production date.
Fun and rare – hefty watches like the Co-Pilot are an unusual find, and in clean and bright condition like this make it a definite keeper.
