Our watches are all sourced from the public - we never buy any watches at auction, and don't plan to. We have a long and very respected history of only offering mint, original-condition watches, based on the fundamental premise of buying decent, genuine pre-owned stock from the public.
There are a number of ways by which you may buy a watch from Watchclub.com:
- Visit us at our London Mayfair shop. We would love to meet you face to face
- Contact us by telephone on +44 (0)20 7495 4882
- Email us your interest at info@watchclub.com
We do not offer a service whereby watches can be bought online. This is to ensure the security of high-value transactions. We do accept, depending on the circumstances, all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), electronic bank transfers, cash, and banker's drafts as methods of payment.
Shipping
Within the United Kingdom, we ship by Royal Mail Special Delivery. This next-day service is definitely the most reliable domestic service, tracked all the way from dispatch to delivery. Our own insurance policy covers goods in transit both outbound and inbound, topping-up the Royal Mail's £2500 cap.
Within the rest of the European Union, we ship using FedEx, also an overnight service. We insure these consignments independently to guarantee safe receipt of your goods.
The same FedEx service covers most of the rest of the world, but certain exclusions apply, so please check with us first before committing to buy if you are outside Europe.
Import Duties and VAT
Our watches are all technically previously-owned, even when in Brand New condition, and as such, are exempt from VAT (Value-Added Tax). If you buy a watch from Watch Club, you will not be charged VAT, and will not, therefore, have anything to reclaim of the item is subsequently exported.
The question of import duty varies depending on the country of final destination. Everywhere within the European Union is exempt from import duties, but other countries definitely have rules regarding this. The United States of America, in particular, has very specific directives relating to the importation of Rolex watches. Please check with your consulate or take other legal counsel in this regard.
Returns
English and Scottish law makes specific provision for the consumer who buys goods over the telephone or online, namely that you are entitled to return goods for a refund within fourteen days if purchased unseen, provided the items have not been used and are returned in the same condition as when they were supplied. We always pay for the cost of dispatch within Europe, although we normally require items being returned to be done so at the buyer's expense. We can help to arrange cost-effective shipping.
If you are interested in Selling a watch, please contact us by:
- Visiting the shop
- Telephone for an initial general price guide
- Send us an email with photos with a full description
- Send the watch by Royal Mail Special Delivery for a no-obligation offer. If we agree a price, we will pay by return, or alternatively send the watch back to you at our expense.
We are a very busy shop, and encourage prospective sellers to plan to visit or send their watches; most of our best deals are done face to face - good honest discussion is what we built our business on, and believe that in spite of advances in technology, this is still the best way to get taken seriously.
Payment
We pay by the following methods:
- Wire transfer
- Cheque
- Cash
We insist on having a paper trail for every watch purchased, and do not, therefore generally pay cash in full. Please be prepared to be asked to positively identify yourself with a current passport, driving license or similar if you plan to sell your watch.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Watch Club!
