Interest in vintage Day-Dates is at an all time high at the moment... This 18ct yellow gold example with original diamond bezel shows why perfectly. In addition to the 44 factory set Rolex diamonds, Rolex signed the dial for one of their most important retailers, Serpico Y Laino. S&L were unique in the fact that they also subtly engraved their initials onto the casebacks and this reference 1804 shows that here perfectly. It is thought that only around 1% of these fabulous Day-Dates were co-signed Serpico, in short everything adds up to a beautiful and rare investment watch. What is interesting to note, is that 15 years later the original owner returned to the Serpico boutique for them to record the numbers as advised in the accompanying 'recomendaciones importantes' booklet, duely signed by the retailer.
