IWC Mark 11 - Vintage Pilot's Watch
REF: 6B/346 | Year 1951
SOLD
Sold on 28 Jul 2012Also known as the Mark XI, this IWC Navigator's watch is one of the RAF's most iconic instruments. Designed for British and Commonwealth pilots, the watch has highly legible hour markers (notice the rare 'hooked 7' on this dial, along with original tritium paint), and centre seconds. A soft iron inner core shields against those pesky magnetic fields, and there are non-magnetic alloys throughout the escapement of this Calibre 89 movement. Stop-seconds ('hacking'), solid pins, and a sturdy screw-down caseback with full military markings complete this quietly revolutionary watch. The historic Mark 11 is highly sought-after, especially when in such exceptional condition.
