This ref. 6150 was manufactured in 1953, the same year as the Rolex Explorer was born and named in honor of Sir John Hunt's expedition who successfully conquered Everest wearing a similar model to this. This watch would have been one of the first to be signed "Explorer" and the very first model to feature Mercedes hands. Bubble-back case, black dial with gilt minute track and font, original gilt hands.
