The ref 16760 was the very first GMT II model produced (note the absence of the word 'DATE' on this prototype dial), it sported a sapphire crystal glass (as opposed to perspex) and featured for the first time an independantly adjustable 24hr hand. Its nickname "Fat Lady" or "Sophia Loren" refers to the thicker case found exclusively on this model, the bezel and crown guards are also fatter, giving this watch a chunkier look. Our watch couldn't be more complete, with its inner and outer box, original bill of sale, service certificate, GMT instruction manual, spare red/black bezel insert and Rolex guarantee stamped 'Harrods' and dated Dec 1988.
